Deborah Cavenaugh was honored as the "Artist of the Year" by The Carousel Center as part of the making legends local event. The Carousel Center is a group committed to providing a child friendly environment to meet the needs of the abused and neglected and to supporting child abuse prevention efforts in North Carolina.

Ms. Welin writes about DREAMS, an outstanding organization that offers performing and visual arts classes to children ages 8-17. The founder of DREAMS, Tracey Wilkes, has been honored at the White House for her innovative work. Deborah lends her talents to many charities and good works.
