I Am Focusing On The Joys That Are Mine, and this is a Mrs Mazursky painting, I have probably painted a dozen paintings of a woman in a chair, in her house, a very domestic scene, fixing green beans, making peas, slicing tomatoes, opening oysters. I really love these pot moments of domesticity, here she is, her cat is curled up next to her, beside of her is just a beautiful lawn, she's got a broom nearby. I don't know, I just really find these comforting and they part go back, for me, to nostalgia to memories I have from growing up, I would stay with my aunts and go out on their farms and this was just a part of their day to day life, and the title, I'm Focusing On The Joys That Are Mine, it just means exactly just that, that if i look around and see the good things in my life and focus on them then I realize all is truly well in my world.
